Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Are applications open to external applicants who are not currently studying at UOBS?
Yes - we will have at least 50 places available to external applicants who are currently studying in Year 11 at another school.
Question 2: Do you accept applications for students looking to re-sit or re-take their A-levels?
Unfortunately, we do not currently have the capacity to consider applications from students who are already in year 12 or 13 and have already commenced their Level 3 studies at another institution.
Question 3: Do you offer BTECs or other vocational courses?
At the University of Birmingham School, we follow a traditional academic curriculum, formed of purely A-level courses. However, many of these are 'facilitating subjects' as recommended by the country's top universities, meaning that the subject combinations we offer will open doors to a wide range of future opportunities for our students.
Question 4: When is the deadline for applications?
Completed applications should be submitted by midnight on Friday 31st January 2020.
Question 5: I have already submitted my application but my predicted grades / subject choices / contact details have changed - what should i do?
Applicants can log in at any point before the application deadline at midnight 31st January 2020 to update any of the details provided on their application. After this point applications will be closed and offers processed based on the information we have received. Please note that any changes to predicted grades should be evidenced by uploading a certified report from the student's current school (i.e. on school letterhead paper or signed and stamped by the school).
